When One Gets Older

Somehow, time is passing by very quickly this year. Well, that's how I feel.

Everyday is the same mundane one for me.

In a gist:-
Wake up when my girl wakes (normally anytime from 7-8am).
Prepare and eat breakfast together.
Shower D first.
My turn to shower.
Prepare lunch.
Cook lunch.
Have lunch.
Nap time.
Prepare and eat dinner (anywhere from 6-7pm).
Shower D. Then my turn.
TV time till 9pm.
Tuck D to bed.
11pm end of the day for me.
Repeat.

And with each day passing... I know Im getting older... and D is getting bigger. And when D is of my age, I will be a wrinkly old woman. Lol.

This life... seems to be too boring. I wish I can add something inside... something that I won't regret doing.

But you see... as we age, we tend to lose the risk-taking element. It's like we can't afford to get embarrassed for stuff that we do. All of a sudden, you just 'mellow down' in your actions. Example, I don't really want to get on a roller coaster now. But, 13 years ago I would die for such a ride of my life.

You know sometimes I do wonder what kind of a friend I am in others' eyes.

Maybe I have the 富贵相 or I'm giving off a vibe that says I'm rich and I can afford anything I want.

I could have gotten the wrong actual meaning of the incident when it happened... but one just can't help but to feel that way....

Let me start the story.

Friend A and I were not exactly the best of friends... yes, we are friends, but not to the point where we tell each other secrets. We can request help from each other and there's no hard feelings even when we say no. The important thing here is that... we do not keep in contact frequent. We hardly talk.

And then A came and asked me if I wanted to chip in for a mutual friend, B's birthday present. In my mind I rejected on the spot, but I can't help but to say what I felt at that point of time. Why didn't you guys do the same for me for my birthday? Why do I have to cough money up now after all the time we didn't talk? And besides, B and I are drifting apart in our friendship. We simply stop talking for a reason that I hate the most. B kept saying work has been overwhelming but I see B enjoying with others .... so, why not me? I used to be B's best friend. Anyway, that's another story. Yeah, so why ask me now?

No answer was given when I asked why didn't they do the same for my birthday. I already knew that A cannot be bothered with me. I gave up too, I just replied that I wouldn't chip in. I got a fast response saying OK.

Maybe I could have gotten the wrong meaning... maybe they just want to count me in since it has been a long time since we interacted.

But you see, things haven't been rosy... and you really can't help but to think the same way I did in first instance.

And as a matter of fact, I have long prepared B's present when we were in the midst of salvaging our friendship. It is a costly gift. I took much time in choosing it. But now... things aren't the same as before and I feel reluctant to give it to B.I know I sound like I'm a nasty person. But would you in your correct mind give a gift to someone who doesn't treat you the same as before?

I understand everyone has their own clique... and apparently I am not in B's league anymore.

And I really do not like it when people think that I am a ATM. Cos I am not one. And I know I am not close with you guys anymore... so yeah... B, celebrate your special day with people who you love. There's no need to involve ex best friends in the event out of obligation.

Actually typing this entry may also become another issue for these two Friends to fuss in. Anyway, this is my point of view. I do not know how you guys think but this was exactly how I felt. I am just being honest to pen it down.

Daiso Air Con Filters

Last time I wrote about air con filters... and I said 3M filters costs so much whereas the ones from Daiso are just at $2 per pack.

Not all cheap stuff are of good quality. LOL.

The results were not as ideal as I thought it would be.

Yes, you can see the dust and black particles on the filters.. but the inner rollers are a disaster. They are not as clean as when  I was using the 3M ones. :( I had to use cotton buds this time round when we were cleaning the air con units. Ugh.

I guess the $28 is sort of justified in exchange for the hard work and time you put in cleaning the rollers.

I tried to find if there were cheaper ones on Qoo10, but they don't have them. I saw a similar product but am not sure if it was authentic. Guess I shall have to buy them from major supermarkets. T_T"

Just Another OOTD

This was what I wore to my husband's colleague's baby first month party.

I even braided my hair that day!

and below is my before and after makeup pics. LOL.

Oh yeah, talking about makeup, I realized I am starting to get some fine wrinkles at the top of my forehead. Maybe I should try getting those dermal fillers as soon as I am done with my research. I may try NeuGlow. May.

We'll see how it goes. :)

Navy Bear 2013

Navy Open House this year sold bears at the event! And the sad thing was.... it was totally Sold Out on the second day of its 4 day event. T_T"

Metro Sale

There was a 20% store-wide discount (on most items) at Metro outlets over the last weekend.

And even though I was on my way to recovery, I did my shopping there! O_O

I was in need of a new wallet but I couldn't find anything from the Sembonia range. I looked through the Carlo Rino collection and my husband pointed out one set to me! Luckily he did so! Else I would have just whizzed by without noticing.



Sweet right? The box is so classy with sweet pink and black ribbon!

Here's my new wallets! Big and small! Awesome! Hubby said I could use the small one when I go grocery shopping. -.-" I don't think I will use it just for supermarket trips.... Haha.

And apart from these, my housekeeper indirectly influenced me to buy a nude pair of wedges. O_O

One for me, one for her. Hers look so small right? Cos she's a size 5! And I'm a gigantic 7 when placed beside hers.

Not bad, not bad. LOL. Anyway, I think these 2 items that I got for myself will only see the daylight next year for CNY.

Do you know that CNY falls on 31 Jan 2014, Friday? Way too fast!!!! Gotta start spring cleaning and all this November!

My Favorite Durian Uncle Ah Teck

I have been buying durians from him ever since .... many years ago. LOL. Okay, let me estimate... should be about 5 years?

The previous time the durians I got from him were not that nice and I rang him up to let him know... and yesterday when I visited him, he gave me these....



I'm like so shocked.

Uncle I want to pay you $10 at least leh! But no... he refused! Even 'shoved' me aside. LOL. No no no, you take it because last time the durians not nice, so Uncle now compensate you.

T_T" You tell me lah, where to find such a nice durian seller?

This is the kind of positive business attitude that I admire. The other durian sellers who do door-to-door business gave me the worst kind of impression ever. And another seller even came to my place last 2 days ago! I quickly rejected him and I saw his hand was already on my door bell!!!! NO!!!

Don't you press my door bell when my child is napping. Hate it when people do not read the signs that I put outside my door. Bah.

老娘已经写很清楚不要按门铃，看不懂啊？！

Luckily I managed to stop him in time. Phew.

Like what my husband says, be wary of door to door sales. Not everyone is a good egg.

Anyway, thank you Uncle Ah Teck, 谢谢你那么疼我！哈哈！

Liese Bubble Foam Hair Dye

As I was getting sick and tired of my old hair color... I decided to try Liese's product!

The words Jewel Pink caught my attention

And the foam!!!! You gotta squeeze the center of the bottle.

And this is my new hair color.

The product is quite of expensive... retails at $19.90 but I got it at a discount of $17.90 at Watsons. And what's worth mentioning is the rinse off treatment. It makes your hair silky smooth! 

母女装 and Dining at Saizeriya

When you have a daughter, you will want to have similar clothes to wear with....

And I got us both a striped dress. Hehe. We first wore it on my birthday last year and it was still loose on her small build.

Today I let her wear the dress again and ... it still looks loose. LOL.

The stuff there are at decent prices but when it all totals up... it's kind of scary. The drinks are free flow for a fee that you pay. :D

This is what I mean by total it up and it looks kind of scary.

I had their Fish Filet with White Sauce... and the sauce they gave was pathetic, it covers only 1/4 of the big fish that was served. Yes, the cream here you see is what they pour over the fish. And that's it. Quite dry as well. :( This dish is not fulfilling at all. I had to eat the remnants of my child's food to feel full.

Not bad, not bad, but it tastes kind of coarse. Like, not refined.

22-25 Jul 2013 Genting and AirAsia

Firstly, I would like to thank my husband for taking time off to bring all of us on a holiday to Genting, Malaysia.

:D

Ok, here's Day 1 photos.

I prebooked our inflight meals at a cheaper rate. And they taste good!!! Not just some crappy stuff. 

Flight took about 1 hour from Changi Airport as there was a long delay taking off. Too many planes landing on Singapore air strip. LOL.

Flight was good.. my kid even slept in it. And this is her first air flight too.

We reached Genting at 2pm+ and all we did was to rest a while before meeting up for dinner. Flight and taxi is just as tiring! Taxi ride is about 2hours max.

In case you're wondering how much she weighs. (doc says she's fine as long as she's eating... slightly underweight is still ok. So long as she doesn't show signs of restlessness and having no interest in anything..then there's nothing that we should do.) 

This is taken from my daughter's point of view. LOL. Yes, I'm proud to say that at 27months old she's able to take decent photos.

And we took the cable car ride up back to Genting after the Temple and strawberry farm visits! 8RM per pax! Not like our Sentosa Cable car... exorbitantly high at >10$SGD

Senka face wash ultra cheap. 19.90RM per tube. Famous Amos cookies are ultra cheap as well. 8.90RM per 100gm against our $5.90 per 100gm. Bottom 2 buns are bought at 50% off after 9pm.

Plane back to Singapore! This time it took about 30min! Sibei fast. For fuss free flying around you may consider Air Asia.. it's not that bad lah.. I remember I once sat in another budget airline... the whole ride was super bumpy and leg room was smaller than Air Asia. For budget flying, this is considered decent.

That's us having dinner at Saboeten! Sums up our Genting experience! :D
